A BIT OF BACKGROUND

Gailiech Gordon Setters is owned by Mark and Jill Yates.  In 2013, We moved to our small holding in Scotland and 2 weeks later Geech moved in with us.  From that moment on, our lives were changed forever and we can now never imagine not sharing our lives with Gordon Setters.

Mark was brought up with Irish, Red and White Irish and Gordon Setters, as well as a number of other dog breeds and other animals.  It was the Gordon that stole his heart as a child and the dog he wanted when the time was right. I on the other hand, had not been brought up with dogs and was in fact scared of them!

Geech changed Jill's life completely. We started to go to a local ring craft and then to dog shows and an unbreakable bond of love, trust and friendship grew. Aili joined us in 2015 and life was full of fun and happiness.  Aili is our Foundation bitch and we are very proud to say she has had 3 litters and her daughter Freyja has had 1 litter of lovely puppies at the time of writing, they were both fantastic mothers.

Our dogs share all aspects of our lives with us, they live in the house, they even have their very own custom designed dog room, although they'll often be found curled up of the sofa or our bed. They spend hours with us supervising and 'helping' on our smallholding. Gordon's are a truly remarkable dog, they are loving, caring, crazy, funny, intelligent, loyal and much more.  We are honoured to share our lives with them and to be custodians of this amazing breed.
